Success: It’s All About Your Attitude

attitude in pink

Today as I dropped my daughter off for Show Choir practice I smiled as I admired her excitement. She absolutely loves show choir and is obsessed with the songs, the choreography, her teacher, everything…

It’s funny because I remember that’s how I felt about drama. It’s one of those things you either love or hate. She has been practicing all week and mind you the days are very long and not once have I heard her complain.

As she got out of the car she hopped with one shoe half way on her foot because a boy had accidentally stepped on her foot the night before. But like a champion she iced it and hobbled along.

Now she could have easily complained or made an excuse to miss the eight hour practice (yes eight hours) but instead she approached her day with an attitude of gratitude. Her school has one of the best show choirs in our region and many children who audition do not make it and my daughter did. She realizes it is a privilege to be one of the chosen.

I feel that as adults we need to adopt the same attitude. An attitude of gratitude. Whether you are an entrepreneur,or currently hold a job or you are in school it makes your days go by much faster when you embrace each day with gratitude.

Think about it. Some people would love to have their own business or have a job even or believe it or not be able to go to school. Everyday isn’t perfect but it could be worse. Am I right?

Whenever I have a “not so good” of an attitude I like to pause and think of five t hings I am grateful for right then and there. It works wonders and can often shift my mood almost immediately.

I talk about attitude a lot because I run into people all the time that have such horrible attitudes and they don’t realize that how they act or treat others causes them to miss great opportunities. People work with, buy from, and hang out with people they like.

Having a great attitude causes people to like you and as I often say in my training courses  like, know, and trust are what makes for great relationships especially in business. Do as much as you can to control as many of these attributes as possible.

So whether you have a sore foot, a mean boss, or a crazy instructor, LOL, change your attitude. It will get better. The day will end. The class will end, and the presentation you felt you totally bombed will soon be forgotten.

Keep pushing my friend and remember your attitude determines your altitude.
