Wisdom Tips From Pastor Tracie!

Pastor Tracie in leopard
Welcome to my blog. I decided to start a new blog because I just have so much to share and I love expressing myself by writing. This site will grow and grow as the weeks go by so please come back and visit. In fact why don’t you go ahead and bookmark my site as one of your favorites. 🙂
Although, I will write random posts as they hit me, one thing you can be sure of is they will be positive. There is so much negativity in our world, I feel the least I can do is spread some joy or at least share some wisdom.
pride
Today I want to write about pride. I see so many instances of it and it is really quite disturbing. As a person in ministry, I am privy to quite a bit of private often shameful situations and a common thread that is often woven in the tragic situations is the ugly spirit of pride.
I see younger people emerging on the scene in their various careers and some have accomplished much more than their parents and while that is to be commended, the attitude I see is not one of gratitude. There is such a sense of entitlement that I am not only saddened  but also sickened by the over the top “look at me” attitudes that are displayed on social media everyday.
The comments that fall off of some of the lips of the “seemingly successful” (Don’t believe everything you see on FakeBook, oops I mean Facebook)  scare me because I know if it is not “fixed” the next headline will be one of destruction.
As I see this happening, I ask myself is this arrogance or innocence? Is it innocence or is it ignorance. I mean maybe they just don’t know. One thing that I realize is that if you allow yourself to believe your own press, eventually you will fall. It happens without fail…
There has to be a concerted effort to remain humble. No matter the level of success. Things change. Look around you. Those that were once number one in their field are not even scoring anymore. This statement is not referencing athletes. It is referencing those who were once at the top of their game.
When I speak of humility, I am not saying piously humble but humble in the sense that you understand that God, and the people that he has used have helped you to arrive at your present state. Be grateful.
My friend, contrary to what others have told you, you can be replaced. Certainly you are a “designer’s original” with a specific purpose, ( I get that) but never assume that if you don’t do “it”, that it can’t be done because that is certainly not the truth.
In fact, I’ve seen the very people that push you up on a pedestal secretly wish for your downfall. Be careful… Have the character than when you rise, you can stay there. Be the type of person that when you are elevated that you can be trusted there and that you will also be effective there.
Remember pride comes before destruction. Get rid of any trace of it and enjoy all that God has for you. Don’t be in a hurry to “make it”. Enjoy each moment of your rise and trust that God will exalt you in due time.
