Why Use Pinterest For Business

Many may ask why they should use Pinterest for business when there are so many social platforms being promoted already. I totally get it but you want to pay attention to who is on Pinterest and why they are there.

The truth is Pinterest is amazing for driving traffic to your site. I was first enlightened to this fact as I watched a training by some of the “big” guys at an event in Portugal. I was amazed at the stats that he shared and just how much traffic and business they were doing because of Pinterest.

Let me share a few facts with you.

  • Pinterest drives at least 2 site visitors and 6 page views per pin.
  • Each pin is worth 78 cents in sales
  • The average pin is repinned around ten times each

Just knowing this will encourage you to get a pinning schedule and to see that you are not wasting your time and making a great investment in the future of your business.

Use Keywords

Pinterest is a virtual search engine and when people are searching, you want to be found. Thoroughly researching popular keywords and using the keywords in your description, your title, and your image will help your pins to be found and help drive traffic to your website or offer. The gentleman that spoke at the event in Portugal reported that he is actually getting over 100,000 visitors per month to his website from Pinterest alone. Those number are crazy and if you are smart you will get your share of visitors as well.

Popular Categories on Pinterest

Popular categories include:

  • Interior Décor,
  • Design
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Food and Drink
  • Photography
  • Beauty
  • Fashion
  • Fitness
  • Jewelry & accessories.
  • Infographics are also very popular on the site.

Grow Your Followers

Having followers just like other social media platforms is going to be important although maybe not as important as say Instagram or Facebook. You want social proof but the great thing about Pinterest is that people can find your pins whether they follow you or not. That is great news so make sure you pin with a purpose and create a schedule that will allow you to be consistent.

You can grow your followers by engaging with those that follow you and of course by engaging on pins with people that you want to follow you. Use comments, likes, questions and of course repin their content so that you can start to build a relationship.

Well that’s all I have for now. If you want to go deeper in your quest to pin for profit check out my course, PINTEREST REVOLUTION. I go into depth and share strategies to get you going quickly so that you can start driving buyer traffic to your site or offer.

Until next time,
